SEYMCHAN METEORITE, MAGADAN REGION, RUSSIA. 512,2 GRAMS.

Sale price€2,560.00

The Seymchan meteorite is a rare stony-iron meteorite discovered in eastern Russia in 1967. What makes Seymchan unique among meteorites is its dual nature: some portions contain olivine crystals (pallasitic zones), while others are composed entirely of metallic iron-nickel.

This specimen comes from the metallic portion of the meteorite and displays a well-defined Widmanstätten pattern, formed by extremely slow cooling inside the core of its parent asteroid over billions of years. No olivine is present in this slice.
